W dniu 1 grudnia 2014 roku weszła w życie zmiana ustawy z dnia 20 sierpnia 1997 roku o Krajowym Rejestrze Sądowym. Zmiana przepisów wprowadza ułatwienia dla przedsiębiorców rejestrujących podmioty w Krajowym Rejestrze Sądowym. Od 1 grudnia 2014 roku czynności nowego podmiotu ograniczą się jedynie do złożenia stosownego wniosku o wpis w Rejestrze Sądowym. Dzięki wprowadzeniu nowego systemu teleinformatycznego dane umieszczone w KRS będą od razu dostępne dla innych instytucji, jak urzędy skarbowe, ZUS czy GUS.
Nowo powstały podmiot nie będzie już musiał czekać z rozpoczęciem działalności na przekazanie przez Sąd Rejestrowy stosownej dokumentacji drogą pocztową do danej instytucji (co potrafiło zająć sporo czasu). Dane takie jak numer NIP czy REGON mają być nadawane automatycznie po wprowadzeniu nowego podmiotu do bazy KRS. Skróci to w znaczący sposób czas przekazywania informacji pomiędzy Sądem Rejestrowym a urzędem skarbowym czy ZUS.
Dodatkowo również zmiana będzie polegać na umożliwieniu automatycznego wprowadzenia numerów NIP czy REGON do systemu KRS w momencie ich nadania przez same instytucje. To rozwiązanie zdejmie z barków nowych przedsiębiorców obowiązek przesyłania do Sądów Rejestrowych formularzy ze wskazaniem nadanych numerów po ich uzyskaniu, w celu wprowadzenia numerów do bazy KRS. Dotychczas przedsiębiorcy byli często wzywani przez Sądy Rejestrowe do przekazywania stosownych danych. Od 1 grudnia 2014 roku przekazywanie przez przedsiębiorcę nowo nadanych numerów NIP czy REGON nie będzie potrzebne, dane te zostaną wprowadzone automatycznie do systemu KRS.
Nowelizacja wprowadza dalsze ułatwienia dla rejestracji nowych podmiotów gospodarczych i jest rozwinięciem tzw. „zasady jednego okienka”
